Match Play is a fun and social way for kids to get into team tennis and is played on Friday evenings during school terms at Green Ball level.
Once kids are playing at a level where they are ready to learn how to compete in matches they are invited to join the Friday night Green ball competition.
The Matchplay is structured to educate students on how to compete properly during a match whilst learning the fundamentals needed to win, including tactics, emotional control, scoring and etiquette.
A coach is always on court with students to give feedback and guide them as they play. At the end of each match scores are recorded and players compete over the course of the term for trophies and prizes.
Many of our students have used this opportunity as a platform to transition into weekend club competition and JDS tournaments or as a way to put into practice the skills learned in class.
The competition runs Friday evenings; 6:30 – 7:30pm and participants play up to 3 sets per week in singles and doubles format.
